MEA Legal Consultant Recruitment 2026 | Eurasia Division

The Ministry of External Affairs invites applications for one Consultant (Legal) in its Eurasia Division. Responsibilities include handling legal and consular matters, coordinating with law-enforcement agencies and government counsel, drafting affidavits and court replies, and monitoring ongoing litigation. Essential: Indian national; at least a bachelor’s degree in law; minimum five years’ legal experience and five years’ experience in court-case processes; knowledge of international law, international legal affairs, diplomatic norms and processes, computer operations and social-media communication. Age: Maximum 45 years on the application deadline. Retired Government of India applicants must be no older than 63 and have served at least at Under Secretary level with a legal background. Desirable: Government legal experience, knowledge of international affairs, international-law experience and advanced computer skills.
